1. Introduction to GSM/GPS SIM908 Easy  

 Designed for the international market, the SIM908 module is equipped with a GSM / GPRS module and a powerful GPS receiver. Quad band GSM / GPRS GSM 850MHz, EGSM 900MHz, DCS 1800MHz and PCS 1900MHz. The SIM908 supports GPRS class 10 / class 8 GPRS and encodes CS1, CS2, CS3 and CS4. The SIM908's GPS unit gives you the best start-up time, accuracy and sensitivity.

 With its compact packaging, the SIM908 can provide good space for applications such as M2M, Smart phones, PDAs, navigation devices and other mobile devices.

 

    

     GSM / GPS SIM908 Easy is a product developed by AT-COM based on the features of the SIM908 module. GSM / GPS SIM908 Easy is designed to help users easily research and deploy applications related to GSM, GPRS such as control, monitoring, data transmission, ... and GPS applications such as positioning coordinates display on Google maps, speed, time ... with high accuracy.

     In addition, the product also has a built-in Battery and Li-ion Battery charger provides users with high mobility and convenience.Besides with its compact size, convenient data output, GSM / GPS SIM908 Easy will bring the most modern and refined design inspiration.

2. Feature of GSM/GPS SIM908 Easy   

   

 

    The ATCBus Socket with integrated pins allows users to connect to products that support ATCBus easily. All in one ATCBus.

 

    The board supports the GSM Antenna Connector, GPS Antenna Connector that allows connection to GSM antennas and external GPS antennas. GSM / GPS SIM908 Easy is designed to support both "Active Antenna" and "Passive Antenna". Users can choose to use Active Antenna or Passive Antenna via "Jump Select". If using Passive Antenna, Jump Select is open. If using Active Antenna, user will use Jump Select junction. By default, when manufacturing GSM / GPS SIM908 Easy is welded to the Jump Select junction to select Active Antenna. In addition, the GSM / GPS SIM908 Easy also supports the IPX Connector for both GSM and GPS Antenna, enabling the external antenna connection to be more diverse and user-friendly.

     The ON / OFF button allows you to start the SIM908 manually next to the PWRKEY boot on the ATCBus Socket.

     Led Status displays the Power on status of the SIM908.

     Led Netlight displays the status of the current SIM908 network connection.

     GPS Header with TXD_GPS, RXD_GPS, GND of GPS unit helps users to get coordinates of SIM908 transmitted directly without need through GSM.

     The circuit communicates with the microcontroller via the UART pins on the ATCBus Socket, which supports communication for both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. Choosing the voltage level to communicate with the microcontroller by selecting I / O Level on the circuit. The user selects the I / O Level by welding 0 ohm resistor to 3V3 or 5V position (by default, the 0 Ohm resistor is welded to 5V position).

 

    A very special feature was first integrated into the GSM / GPS products GSM / GPS SIM908 Easy battery integrated NOKIA NOKIA BP-6X 3.7V-700mAh provides additional mobility of the application for the user.

    Battery is charged via VCHG pins on the ATCBUS Socket by charger with a voltage of 5-6V, minimum current 750mA.
